I’m back! Easter is over, the weather in my region is getting better and better and finally I have some time to search for new slots!

I love this time of the year. Okay, the days are getting shorter in the place where I live and it often rains, but who cares if you have Halloween? It’s my favourite holiday – I guess I will never grow up enough to stop enjoying Halloween costumes, creepy parties and Tricks!

There is no wonder then that I was pretty excited when I heard about the newest game from Microgaming – Lost Vegas. My favourite gaming destination, so called Sin City and zombies – could I ask for more this Halloween? I guess not 🙂 Did the game meet my expectations? Yes, it did – very, very!
First of all, Lost Vegas looks OSSOM! On its reels you will find the images of blood-seeking zombies – their faces are covered with blood and other strange substances – I don’t want to think about the details too much – and they all look really hungry! This is as far as the Zombie mode is concerned. And now the second mode – Survivors. Well, they are so boring that I almost fall asleep when I turn on this side of the game. Sufficient to say that this mode focuses on common people who survived zombie apocalypse and try to find their place in the zombie-occupied city. There are some pretty girls and brave guys, but they are too cute to like them. I got hooked to zombie mode and that is enough for me.
Apart from the excellent theme and nice graphics, the game offers some special features such as Free Spins, Stacked Wilds, Stash Feature, Blackout Bonus and Wilds. Free Spins are awarded when you catch t least three Scatters anywhere on the reels. In the Survivors mode you get free spins with stash feature where standard card symbols are removed adding extra cash to players’ account. I was so busy recently, that I had almost no time to try brand new slots released by one of my favourite software providers – Wazdan. I have already provided you with descriptions of some of the most stunning games from this game studio, but now they have gone live with totally new titles.

I’ve been waiting for soooo long, but finally we get it: a brand new game from Thunderkick – The Rift. Currently available only in the fun mode, the game will be released for real-money mode in May, but I had to check it one way or another, even simply for fun.

So gloomy, mysterious and horror-like atmosphere, I am sure Thunderkick did their best to think the theme through! And most importantly, there are no fruit and diamond symbols on the reels – I’m so grateful! Instead, the reels offer such symbols as strange coins, magic books, shining watches and a mysterious octopuses. All this placed on the dark background and equipped with eye-catching animations. Can you ask for more? For me, it was an instant love!
There are also some interesting special features such as wilds, scatters and free spins.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all other icons, if wild symbol combined with at least one more symbol it substitutes for form a winning pay line.
The logo of the game is a Bonus symbol. When you catch 2 of them on the reels, you win a Rift Spin. If you stop the reels with 3 or more bonus symbols, you win the bonus game. Any additional bonus symbol adds 5 more free spins. The initial number of free spins in the bonus game depends on the number of bonus symbol. So, you get 20 free spins for 5 bonus symbols, 15 for 4, 10 for 3 and 1 for 2. Sun Tide from Microgaming – bitter disappointment!
There were so many great games launched recently that I got used to pure pleasure felt each time I triggered a newly released slot. When I first saw Sun Tide from Microgaming, I expected the same: nice graphics, interesting theme and innovative special features. Did I really ask for too much? Probably yes, especially when you see the new game from my beloved Microgaming.
The title of the game made me think about some beach parties and sexy girls wearing bikini. I could not be further from truth. Sun Tide has nothing to do with tides, sea, romantic sunsets and those nice things. What you see behind the reels is an orange background with no objects, no girls and in fact no tides. Ok, you may say. Background is not as important as the symbols – am I right. Well, so get ready for truly exciting symbols! What are they? You won’t guess! There are cherries, oranges, lemons, BARs, watermelons and yes, I knew you’d love it – bells and diamonds. I just hate those unimaginative images which spin with no effects and give you no thrill or any signs of excitement.
So maybe special symbols? Yes, there are some of them available in this ugly 5-reel, 9-payline game. You may take advantage of Scatters, Wilds, Free Spins and multipliers. Quite a nice selection for such a boring slot, so I have no rights to complain. The Wild symbol is represented by a gold coin and when it occurs on reel no 3, it can expand to award additional wins. During free spins, the Wild can expand on reels 2,3 and 4 to award even more wins. 3, 4 or 5 Scatters trigger 15 free spins that can be retriggered. And well, that’s it.
